For me to be a member of EGI means walking into new unchartered territories, to experiment, to constantly find solutions to the impossible and to understand and surpass my own limitations. The very diverse EGI community and the experiences I have with the group help me to constantly discover, question and better understand new worlds and myself. The people at EGI help inspire and encourage me to enter into new projects in areas where I am less comfortable, and yet I always have the confidence that something very valuable will come out of each venture.

I am an entrepreneur and a business coach. I am passionate about new ventures and have founded and co-founded 6 companies, all of which are related to the topic of human health. Apart from my own projects, my aim is to support people in becoming entrepreneurs. My ‘edge’ is an up-to-date operational business understanding and experience of how to start new ventures (technology, business, finance) combined with coaching expertise to support and empower people who want to create new ventures that can make a difference.

I have 18 years of managerial industry experience from large and small companies. Among other, I was part of the management team of a startup that successfully carried out the first biotech IPO on the Swiss stock exchange. In parallel to my entrepreneurial and coaching activities, I enjoy writing and have published my first novel The Ultimate Cure that illustrates the importance of mentoring and coaching when people embark on life-transforming ventures. My educational background is an MSc in Chemical Engineering, an MBA from IMD. I have received my coaching training with Newfield Networks in the US. I have worked and lived in six different European countries and currently live with my family in Switzerland near Geneva.

Entrepreneur and Consultant

Peter Harboe-Schmidt Peter Harboe-Schmidt is an entrepreneur and business/executive coach. He is focused on entrepreneurship and the development of entrepreneurship skills in people and has a particular interest in the creation of new ventures where no well-trodden paths exist and the financing of these through private and public funding.

Peter has 18 years of managerial industry experience from large and small companies, most of which have been in the health care sector. Among other, he was part of the management team of a startup that successfully carried out the first biotech IPO on the Swiss stock exchange.

In parallel with his entrepreneurial activities, Peter has worked the past 8 years as business coach for the Swiss Commission for Technology & Innovation (CTI). Today he is a head coach within the organization, leading a team with 25 business coaches that currently support about 120 technology-based companies. Several other European countries have studied the unique CTI coaching approach/organization and have requested support for building similar structures in their country (France, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic).
